Manama: The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, presided over the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, the Cabinet conveyed its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the upcoming celebration of the Prophet Mohammed's birth anniversary, expressing their hopes for continued progress and prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the broader Arab and Islamic nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet proceeded to address various directives including the implementation of Parent Induction Day across public schools, aimed at briefing parents and guardians about the new academic year. The Cabinet expressed its best wishes for a successful academic year to students, teachers, and administrators.
The meeting also coincided with the International Day of Charity, prompting the Cabinet to reaffirm its commitment to initiatives promoting a culture of charity within communities. Subsequently, the Cabinet reviewed and approved several memorandums. These included a memorandum from the Government Executive Committee on a package of priority draft laws for the development needs of Bahraini citizens and another from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on an agreement with the International Dates Council for a headquarters in Bahrain.
Further memorandums approved involved the expropriation of properties for urban development by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Education and Training System Report for the 2024-2025 Academic Year by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority. The Cabinet also approved the framework for reviewing special education institutions' performance.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed ministerial reports on Bahrain's participation in international events such as the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee's fifth session on plastic pollution, the International Petrochemical Exhibition Kazan Oil, Gas and Chemistry 2025, and the outcomes of the Minister of Youth Affairs' visit to Jordan. Updates on future external ministerial visits were also noted during the meeting.
