HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Bahrain EDB Board Meeting

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), presided over the EDB's Board of Directors meeting at its headquarters in Bahrain Bay. The meeting focused on reviewing the EDB's achievements in 2024 and outlining goals for 2025, in addition to discussing key global economic developments.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness highlighted the successes of Team Bahrain and their efforts in driving the Kingdom's development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The EDB reported securing record investments worth BHD 680 million (USD 1.804 billion), expected to create more than 7,400 jobs over three years.

His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness to attract investments and create quality opportunities for Bahraini citizens. The meeting also featured a presentation by HE Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, on the EDB's achievements in attracting direct investments.

HE Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, presented developments of the SME Development Board. The SME sector saw an 8.6% growth, with GDP contribution increasing from BHD 4.2 billion in Q3 2023 to BHD 4.51 billion in Q3 2024. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with other senior officials, also attended the meeting.
