Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (73) of 2025, which focuses on the restructuring of the National Taskforce for Combating Communicable Diseases. This edict follows a proposal from the Minister of Health and has received approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the National Taskforce will now be led by the Minister of Health and will include a diverse group of members from various sectors. These members include the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health, the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services at the Ministry of Education, and the Director of the Animal Health Directorate at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. Additionally, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the National Communication Centre, and several health-related departments and hospitals will also be part of the taskforce.
The edict specifies that the Head of the Communicable Diseases Department at the Ministry of Health will act as the rapporteur for the taskforce. Furthermore, the Minister of Health, along with all relevant authorities, is tasked with implementing the provisions of this edict, which takes effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
