Gudaibiya: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, and Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Chairman of Exhibition World Bahrain, at Gudaibiya Palace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this meeting followed Manama being crowned as the World's Leading Business Travel Destination at the World Travel Awards 2025. Exhibition World Bahrain also received four awards during the event, including Middle East's Best MICE Event Venue, as well as global recognition as the World's Leading Large-Scale Wedding Venue and the World's Leading MICE Event Venue.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted that the ongoing development of Bahrain's tourism sector is a testament to the dedication of the national workforce and the ambitious initiatives and programmes being implemented according to the Kingdom's comprehensive development plan, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness noted that Bahrain is continuously enhancing its competitiveness as a premier destination, merging unique tourism attractions with a supportive environment for growth and investment opportunities in the region.
HRH expressed his appreciation for the efforts leading to these accolades, emphasizing the collaboration among entities to bolster the tourism sector and its role in fulfilling national development objectives.
He further emphasized the importance of the tourism sector as a cornerstone of development, lauding the commitment and expertise of the national workforce in propelling the sector's growth and achievements.
His Royal Highness reiterated Bahrain's initiatives to highlight the Kingdom's varied activities and promising opportunities that contribute to economic diversification, sustainable growth, and reinforce the tourism sector's economic contributions.
Her Excellency Al Sairafi conveyed her gratitude to His Royal Highness for his steadfast support in promoting the tourism sector.
The meeting was also attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court; HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; and several officials instrumental in the completion of Exhibition World Bahrain.
