Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The session focused on various key issues and developments concerning the Kingdom of Bahrain and its international engagements.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet emphasized the significance of the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council (Palestine Summit), co-chaired by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo. The Cabinet underscored the importance of His Majesty's address at the summit, which reiterated the Kingdom's dedication to Arab unity and the promotion of Arab values, particularly moderation and forgiveness, as essential components for nurturing peaceful societies.
The Cabinet also reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to a comprehensive and just peace, echoing sentiments expressed during the Bahrain Summit. This stance follows a report from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed by the Cabinet, which highlighted these commitments.
Further discussions centered on the solidarity and values inherent in the Bahraini community, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. The Cabinet acknowledged the role of Ramadan majlises in strengthening societal bonds and preserving Bahraini traditions.
Several memorandums were discussed and approved during the meeting, including a draft law to eliminate double taxation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and a framework agreement to enhance quality management systems within government agencies.
The Cabinet reviewed developments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' priorities under the Government Program 2023-2026, and the progress of the National Plan for Human Rights 2022-2026 until 2024.
Additionally, the Cabinet noted the outcomes of Bahrain's participation in various international forums, including the UN Human Rights Council, the Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Council, and meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Cabinet also recognized the success of the 12th Bahraini Farmers' Market and the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of Bahrain's initiative to designate January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence.
