Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The session focused on strengthening bilateral relations, workforce competence, and addressing health and safety concerns.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of the visit by His Royal Highness Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting highlighted the robust Bahrain-Jordan relations across various sectors. In anticipation of Labour Day, the Cabinet recognized the national workforce's competence and creativity, as exemplified by Team Bahrain's efforts.
Marking World Press Freedom Day, the Cabinet acknowledged the role of the Kingdom's journalists and media professionals in championing national priorities and fulfilling their professional duties. The Cabinet also mandated the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Health to urgently address the increased mosquito volumes across the Kingdom, emphasizing enhanced control efforts and field monitoring to protect public health.
The Cabinet deliberated on measures to counter the impact of hostile Iranian actions against Bahrain. Furthermore, it approved several memorandums, including a Memorandum of Understanding between the Agricultural Affairs and Animal Wealth Department and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development to boost agricultural entrepreneurship training. Another memorandum involved collaboration between the University of Bahrain and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the government's responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives and discussed ministerial reports. These included the outcomes of Bahrain's participation in the 38th session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the external engagements of ministers, as well as visits by ministers from various countries to Bahrain in May 2026.
