Riyadh: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, opened the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh. HRH the Crown Prince delivered an address on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince welcomed the leaders and dignitaries, highlighting the strong bonds uniting Arab and Islamic nations in their pursuit of peace and stability. In the address, HRH the Crown Prince stated, "Our nations have made significant progress through coordinated international action to condemn Israeli aggression and reaffirm the centrality of the Palestinian cause. We have successfully rallied more countries to recognise the State of Palestine and mobilised support for Palestinian rights, as affirmed by the UN General Assembly, confirming Palestine's eligibility for full UN membership and demanding an end to Israel's illegal occupation of P alestinian territories. In partnership with the European Union and Norway, we launched the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the two-state solution, hosting its inaugural meeting here in Saudi Arabia. We urge other countries to join this alliance, as we continue joint efforts to establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital." His Royal Highness the Crown Prince added, "Saudi Arabia reiterates its condemnation and absolute rejection of the genocide inflicted by Israel on the Palestinian people, resulting in over 150,000 casualties, including numerous women and children. Israel's ongoing crimes against civilians, its repeated violations of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque, and its undermining of the Palestinian Authority's vital role across Palestinian territories only serve to impede efforts to secure the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and to achieve peace in the region." HRH the Crown Prince also noted the actions taken by Arab and Islamic countries t o enhance the international focus on the Palestinian cause, including the launch of the Global Alliance for the Two-State Solution in partnership with the EU and Norway. "Through this alliance, we aim to push the international community to end the Israeli occupation and establish a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital." His Royal Highness the Crown Prince continued, "We strongly condemn Israel's recent military operations targeting Lebanese territories. We reject any threats to Lebanon's security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as the forced displacement of its citizens. Saudi Arabia stands firmly with our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon in addressing the severe humanitarian consequences of the ongoing Israeli aggression. We call on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities for global peace and security by immediately halting the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and to ensure that Israel respects the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran." In closing, HRH the Crown Prince emphasised the importance of cooperation among Arab and Islamic countries in addressing regional challenges, commending Saudi Arabia's role in fostering Arab and Islamic solidarity.
