Riffa: The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today held a meeting with His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Traffic Council, at Riffa Palace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla briefed HRH the Deputy King on the implementation of a new decree-law amending penalties related to traffic violations. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted that these legislative updates are essential for enhancing compliance with traffic laws and protecting both lives and property.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad stressed the need for ongoing monitoring and development of traffic regulations. This, he noted, is vital for improving traffic flow and ensuring a safer environment for all road users.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation for HRH the Deputy King's guidance. He remarked that the introduction of stricter penalties for violations and serious accidents marks a significant step forward in the Kingdom's traffic legislation. This move is part of the government's continuous efforts to bolster public safety and diminish traffic-related incidents.
His Excellency reaffirmed the Ministry's dedication to the effective implementation of the decree-law, with the goal of safeguarding public safety and property while ensuring the smooth flow of traffic. The meeting was also attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, and several senior officials.
