HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister to Patronize 52nd Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition

Manama: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the fifty-second edition of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition is set to open on February 15, at the Bahrain National Museum. The exhibition is organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).

According to Bahrain News Agency, this significant artistic event highlights emerging visual experiences and contemporary creative expressions that have influenced the direction of the fine arts movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. More than seventy artists will participate in the exhibition, showcasing works that demonstrate the diversity of their cultural backgrounds across various international artistic schools.

The displayed works feature distinctive styles and innovative techniques in visual arts, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and installation art. These forms of artistic expression are known for contemporary practices and experimental approaches to media and methods.

These artworks play a crucial role in enriching the cultural scene by offering renewed perspectives where local symbols intersect with global artistic expressions. The exhibition aims to provide a visual dialogue within an integrated aesthetic framework, reflecting the extensive history of Bahrain's artistic movement.

This edition includes participation from leading figures in the art world. The Selection Committee comprises curator Bader Al Saad, curator Melissa Enders-Bhatia, and visual artist and curator Ahmed Emam. The Jury Committee features Dr. Effat Fadag, curator and Director of Naqsh Art Studio; Suheyla Takesh, Director of the Barjeel Art Foundation; and Hayfa Al Jishi, curator and founder of Albareh Art Space.

Since its inception in 1972, the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition has remained the Kingdom's foremost visual arts platform, representing the richness and continuity of the Bahraini artistic experience, and affirming its role as an essential contributor to the Arab and global art scene.
