Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (43) of 2025 concerning the reformation of the Supreme Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities. This decision follows a proposal by the Minister of Social Development and has received approval from the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the restructured committee will be chaired by the Minister of Social Development and will include representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organizations. These members include the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation from the Ministry of Social Development, a member from the Supreme Council for Women, and directors from the Civil Service Bureau, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour, and Ministry of Health. The committee also comprises representatives from the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, the National Institution for Human Rights, and several societies focused on child development and disabilities.
The committee members will serve a renewable term of two years, with the responsibility to elect a Deputy Chair during their inaugural meeting. The edict mandates that relevant ministers execute its provisions, which are effective immediately upon issuance and are to be published in the Official Gazette.
