HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Receives NAO Annual Report for 2023-2024

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Auditor-General of the National Audit Office (NAO), at Gudaibiya Palace to receive the 22nd NAO Annual Report for 2024-2025.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness emphasized the significance of the NAO's efforts in managing public resources efficiently, which is vital to the Kingdom's development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to improving oversight across government operations, underscoring the importance of administrative governance in implementing plans and utilizing national resources effectively.

His Royal Highness praised the efforts to implement the report's recommendations and acknowledged the NAO's proficiency in fulfilling its duties. He stressed the need for thorough reviews and analyses of government agencies' outcomes and the implementation of legal and administrative measures in response to the NAO's findings.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister urged all relevant authorities to address the issues identified and apply the outcomes. He also commended the dedication of Team Bahrain across various sectors, appreciating their role in enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness and achieving development goals.

HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed highlighted the NAO's progress, attributing it to the support of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He reported that 104 oversight tasks were completed, resulting in 84 reports and 104 follow-up reports to verify previous recommendations. Approximately 1,224 recommendations were issued during the year, with 84.9% of them implemented or in progress by audited entities in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The meeting was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, and His Excellency Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
