Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, welcomed the heads of delegations attending the 167th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council and the third Gulf-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to enhancing GCC cooperation and coordination. He highlighted the importance of achieving collective goals and building on the collaborative foundations laid by past GCC leaders, which have served to strengthen and advance joint Gulf efforts.
During the meeting, the delegation heads extended greetings from other GCC leaders to His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. In response, His Royal Highness conveyed greetings from His Majesty the King and himself to the leaders of the GCC states. He expressed hope that the meetings would yield desired outcomes and strengthen engagement and collaboration among GCC member states.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad reiterated Bahrain's dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at consolidating peace, security, and prosperity. He underscored the Kingdom's commitment to seizing opportunities for achieving collective objectives across various sectors. Additionally, His Royal Highness condemned the renewed Iranian aggression against the GCC states, affirming Bahrain's support for efforts to prevent escalation, safeguard civilians and infrastructure, and maintain regional and international peace and security.
His Royal Highness also emphasized the enduring relations between GCC countries and Canada, noting progress across several fields. He stressed the importance of capitalizing on these ties to create new opportunities that drive shared interests, sustainable growth, and prosperity.
The delegation heads expressed their gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his unwavering commitment to enhancing joint GCC efforts. They wished the Kingdom of Bahrain continued growth and prosperity.
The meeting was also attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and HE Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
