HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Engages with Christian Religious Leaders in Awali


Awali: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, held a meeting with Christian religious leaders at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia in Awali. The meeting aimed to ensure the wellbeing of Bahrain’s Catholic community amidst ongoing regional tensions.



According to Bahrain News Agency, this engagement is part of His Royal Highness’s broader efforts to address developments in the Kingdom in response to ongoing Iranian aggression. These efforts align with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s commitment to maintaining the Kingdom’s security and ensuring the protection of its citizens and residents.



His Royal Highness was welcomed by Bishop Aldo Berardi, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, upon his arrival. During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty the King and reiterated the Kingdom’s dedication to fostering a culture of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for all religions. This dedication has been demonstrated through various initiatives by the Kingdom.



HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted Bahrain’s historical role as a beacon of coexistence and tolerance among different religions and cultures. Furthermore, he stressed the importance the Kingdom places on the safety of its citizens and residents, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to their protection and welfare.



His Royal Highness pointed out that this dedication is part of the Kingdom’s longstanding efforts to build a social environment founded on mutual respect and coexistence. The Christian religious leaders expressed their gratitude for the Kingdom’s continuous support under His Majesty the King’s leadership, which promotes values of coexistence and respect for religious diversity. They also acknowledged the secure and supportive environment provided by the Kingdom, which enables individuals to freely practice their faith.



The religious leaders extended their thanks to Bahrain for the protective measures implemented by the relevant authorities to ensure their security and safety. The meeting was also attended by HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
