Gudaibiya: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, engaged in a meeting with His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting underscored the importance of advancing Bahrain's communications and information technology sector, which plays a crucial role in the government's digital transformation and the Kingdom's comprehensive development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasized Bahrain's ongoing strategic projects aimed at enhancing public services and integrating digital solutions across government sectors. He praised the efforts of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, led by the Minister of Interior, for accelerating digital transformation and overseeing key initiatives like the new identity cards, the Innovation Lab, and the self-service centre.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also highlighted the significance of developing policies, plans, and programmes that foster digital transformation. The focus on continuous monitoring and evaluation is essential to improving government services and providing long-term benefits to citizens.
HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa reiterated Bahrain's dedication to embracing innovative digital technologies and securing government services in alignment with the Kingdom's comprehensive development goals. This commitment is supported by the leadership of His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The meeting was also attended by HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).
