Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (40) of 2026, which includes the appointment of directors at the Council of Islamic Endowments Affairs. This decision comes following a proposal by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Article (I) of the edict details appointments within the Sunni Endowments General Directorate. Abdullah Rashid Abdullah Ali has been appointed as the Director of the Mosques and Religious Facilities Directorate, while Ali Abdulrahman Yousif Matar will serve as the Director of the Investment and Endowment Affairs Directorate.
Article (II) outlines the appointments for the Jaafari Endowments General Directorate. Hassan Abdulali Abdullah Al Khatam has been assigned as the Director of the Mosques and Religious Facilities Directorate. Ali Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ghazzal has been named the Director of the Investment and Endowment Affairs Directorate.
Article (III) mandates that the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf is responsible for implementing the provisions of the edict. The edict is effective immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
