Housing Minister: Regulating Gated Communities Enhances Sustainable Housing Standards

Manama: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said that Edict (1) of 2025, issued by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, is a key step in enhancing quality of life and providing high-standard facilities and services.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the edict aligns with the ministry's strategy to create integrated and sustainable housing environments in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. It also enhances the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as an attractive destination for real estate investment, benefiting various economic sectors.

The minister highlighted that the edict will support the development of modern housing options that meet citizens' aspirations. It will also promote contemporary living standards by establishing secure residential environments with comprehensive infrastructure. She emphasised that gated communities follow advanced urban planning standards, improving land use efficiency and enhancing residents' quality of life.

Al Rumaihi added that the ministry is committed to applying global best practices in urban planning and housing projects while maintaining a balance between urban expansion and preserving the built environment. She highlighted that the edict supports sustainability efforts by ensuring high standards in design and planning.

She emphasised the ministry's commitment to working with relevant entities to implement the edict effectively.
