Salman city: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in the commencement of foundation works for a project aimed at constructing 44 new housing units in Salman City. Omar Faisal Al Temiemy, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain First Real Estate Development Company, was also present at the event.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Rumaihi emphasized that the ongoing launch and execution of projects under the Government Land Development Rights Programme signifies the effectiveness of this developmental approach in expediting the delivery of housing services to citizens. This initiative aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which aim to accelerate housing projects and provide 50,000 housing units. The Minister also mentioned the government's focus, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the housing sector.
Minister Al Rumaihi further explained that this project is part of the Ministry's strategy to deliver 137 housing units in Salman City in collaboration with the private sector. Such strategic partnerships are essential for increasing housing supply and providing diverse options for beneficiaries of housing programmes, thereby aiding in the realization of the Kingdom of Bahrain's housing objectives.
The Housing Minister noted that the programme serves as a progressive model of collaboration between the public and private sectors. This partnership harnesses private sector expertise to deliver quality housing solutions that cater to the needs of Bahraini families. The Ministry is committed to expanding this initiative across various governorates.
Minister Al Rumaihi highlighted that the new project builds upon the success of the Government Land Development Rights Programme, mentioning projects like "Suhail" in Al Lawzi, "Al Naseem District" in Salman City, "Al Wadi" in Al Bahair, and "Danat Sanad," which have been well-received by citizens.
Additionally, Minister Al Rumaihi praised Bahrain First Real Estate Development Company for its dedication to executing the project according to approved technical and engineering standards. She acknowledged the importance of such partnerships in speeding up delivery and offering a range of housing options.
Omar Faisal Al Temiemy expressed the company's pride in partnering with the Housing Ministry on this project, affirming that the collaboration is a successful model of public-private sector integration in developing housing projects. He reiterated the company's commitment to adhering to the highest technical and engineering standards and meeting the approved timeline, contributing to national efforts to expand housing options for citizens.
Al Temiemy also noted the success of the Government Land Development Rights Programme in promoting urban development and delivering integrated housing projects. He expressed the company's desire to continue working with the Ministry on future projects that support the Kingdom's housing development goals.
The project is set to offer modern housing units with specifications, sizes, and prices compatible with the Ministry's financing programmes, in partnership with participating banks.
