Manama: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, emphasised that Bahraini Women's Day is a national occasion to honour women's role in the kingdom's development, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and guided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She commended the Supreme Council for Women, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, for empowering women across sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, she noted that Bahraini women are key partners in policy-making, managing national projects, and enhancing institutional innovation. In the housing sector, women have played a central role in planning, supervision, and digital service development. Since 2011, 6,555 women have benefited from housing programmes, reflecting government commitment to women's empowerment.
Al Rumaihi highlighted that the ministry fosters leadership opportunities for women, with female staff successfully leading engineering teams, supervising projects, and implementing strategic initiatives aligned with Bahrain Vision 2030. She affirmed that collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women has strengthened women's presence in decision-making and professional advancement.
She concluded that Bahraini Women's Day underscored the Kingdom's commitment to supporting women's innovation, participation, and leadership in advancing the kingdom's development.
