Housing Minister Engages in Strategic Talks with UN Habitat Regional Director

Manama: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, met in a significant engagement with Dr. Rania Hedaya, the Regional Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat), and Dr. Ayman Al Hefnawi, UN Habitat GCC Representative, to discuss advancements in Bahrain's housing and urban planning strategies.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister highlighted Bahrain's innovative housing programmes and urban strategies, emphasizing the nation's ongoing efforts to ensure adequate housing for its citizens and promote sustainable development. The discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration and expertise exchange between Bahrain and UN Habitat to further advance sustainable urban development and housing policies.

Dr. Hedaya commended Bahrain on its urban development initiatives and took the opportunity to present UN Habitat's new plan designed to promote sustainable, climate-resilient urbanisation. The meeting emphasized the importance of partnership and collective expertise in driving forward the goals of sustainable and inclusive urban growth in Bahrain.
