Manama: Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, recently held a meeting with Dr. Khalfan Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the housing sector. The meeting was attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), and Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah).
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Rumaihi emphasized the strong ties between Bahrain and Oman, highlighting the support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in fostering cooperation across multiple sectors. The Minister pointed out the successful collaboration in the social housing sector, focusing on investment opportunities in housing projects and the potential for Bahrain to share its expertise in this area.
Minister Al Rumaihi praised Oman's initiatives to provide adequate housing solutions for its citizens, drawing parallels to Bahrain's strategies, particularly in engaging the private sector. She acknowledged the recent developments such as Sultan Haitham City, as a testament to Oman's strides towards sustainable urban development under Oman Vision 2040.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa elaborated on Mumtalakat's strategic vision and the ongoing projects by Edamah, its real estate arm, which include significant investment opportunities in vital sectors. He stressed Bahrain's commitment to expanding development initiatives to bolster national economic growth.
He further stated that Mumtalakat is instrumental in driving Bahrain's economic development in alignment with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and plays a key role in the nation's economic diversification efforts.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to persist in their cooperation and coordination, aiming to exchange expertise in housing and public-private partnership initiatives to promote future investment opportunities.
