Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, at Al Safriya Palace during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King welcomed the Secretary General and commended the ongoing efforts of all members of the General Secretariat to enhance Gulf cooperation, achieve greater coordination, integration, and meet the aspirations of the peoples of the member states for development and prosperity.
His Majesty the King also commended the prominent status of the GCC regionally and internationally, and the comprehensive achievements made since its establishment in promoting peace, security, and stability in the region.
HM the King emphasised the strong bonds between Bahrain and the GCC countries, lauding their solidarity during the region's sensitive times and their continuous efforts to maintain peace and security for all.
The meeting also covered various Gulf-related issues, particularly those supporting the progress of the GCC.
On his part, Secretary General Al Budaiwi expressed gratitude to HM the King. He conveyed his appreciation for His Majesty's directives, as well as HM the King's efforts and constant commitment to supporting joint Gulf action, increasing its achievements, and enhancing cooperation and solidarity among member states in order to achieve the GCC goals.
