Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received journalist and author Sawsan Al Shaer at Al Sakhir Palace, where she presented the first copy of her book "Isa Al Kabeer: Founder of the Modern State". The book's release aligns with the royal decree designating this year as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer," celebrating the founder of the modern Bahraini state and the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting included the presence of key dignitaries such as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court.
Sawsan Al Shaer provided an overview of her book, emphasizing Isa Al Kabeer's pivotal role in building the modern state and his significant achievements during his reign. His Majesty the King expressed appreciation to the author for her efforts and highlighted the contributions of all those involved in the book's preparation and publication.
His Majesty also reflected on Isa Al Kabeer's remarkable life, noting his enduring values and the lasting legacy of the legal and civil institutions he established, which continue to benefit Bahrain today. He expressed pride in Isa Al Kabeer's achievements, which brought political stability, security, and economic prosperity, creating a modern national state with a unique identity.
The King underscored the importance of revisiting this historical period to understand the vision of such a leader. He noted that although several studies exist, Isa Al Kabeer's complete contributions have yet to be fully documented, and he stressed that future generations should learn about the efforts made to secure Bahrain's independence and sovereignty.
His Majesty also expressed pride in the foundational figures of the state throughout history, who established the bases for the modern Bahraini state and ensured its ongoing development and stability.
