HM King Receives Arab Parliament Speaker at Al Sakhir Palace

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, current Chair of the Arab Summit, received Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, at Al Sakhir Palace. The Speaker presented His Majesty the King with the Leader Medal, the highest honour awarded by the Arab Parliament to Arab leaders, in recognition of His Majesty's efforts in serving Arab interests and supporting joint Arab action.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Yamahi congratulated His Majesty the King on Bahrain's national football team winning the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, wishing the Kingdom and its people continued progress and more achievements under His Majesty's leadership. HM the King congratulated Al Yamahi on his election as Speaker of the Arab Parliament, wishing him success in his duties. His Majesty expressed pride in Bahrain's strong and historic ties with Arab nations, highlighting the cooperation and coordination to achieve common goals and serve Arab interests.

His Majesty commended the Arab Parliament's role in defending Arab interests at international forums, promoting joint Arab action, and promoting dialogue among Arab legislatures. His Majesty wished the Speaker and members of the Arab Parliament success in advancing their nations and the Arab world. Al Yamahi thanked His Majesty for Bahrain's support towards Arab parliamentary efforts and affirmed his commitment to enhancing the Arab Parliament's role in advancing Arab interests.

During the meeting, Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, member of the Shura Council, presented His Majesty with a book titled "The Third Legislative Term of the Arab Parliament 2020-2024: Contemporary Parliamentary Diplomacy Advocating Arab Issues."
