Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Dr. George Cheriyan, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer of the American Mission Hospital, and Stephanie Hallett, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Cheriyan and Ambassador Hallett presented His Majesty with a commemorative gift marking the Year of Isa Al Kabeer (Legacy of the American Mission Hospital). They also briefed His Majesty on plans to redevelop the historic hospital building on its original site as a gift to the capital for the next century, and to convert the former Women's and Children's Hospital building into a healthcare museum.
HM the King welcomed Dr. Cheriyan and Ambassador Hallett, expressing appreciation for the gift and commending the hospital's development plans and projects, which reflect its continued commitment to enhancing healthcare services. His Majesty commended the efforts of the American Mission Hospital's management and staff in providing high-quality medical and healthcare services to citizens and residents.
HM the King also praised the hospital's longstanding reputation, the expertise and professionalism of its medical staff, and its position as one of the region's pioneering hospitals for more than 120 years. His Majesty highlighted the hospital's contributions to advancing healthcare and medical treatment, and its continued expansion and development of services in the Kingdom.
HM the King highlighted the deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and the United States of America, and the close cooperation between the two countries across various domains, particularly in healthcare and medicine. His Majesty also commended Bahrain's achievements in the medical sector and its pioneering and advanced healthcare system, noting the Kingdom's continued progress in implementing its ambitious development plans.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer of the American Mission Hospital expressed appreciation to HM the King for His Majesty's longstanding support of the hospital and its staff since its establishment, noting that this reflects the strength of Bahrain-US relations and the shared commitment to continued cooperation.
