Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (19) of 2026, which amends Article (144) of the Social Insurance Law originally issued by Decree-Law (24) of 1976. This significant legislative change follows the approval of both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the amendment to Article (144) outlines that substitution under this article shall occur within specified limits, conditions, regulations, and cases, as determined by a decision of the Minister based on a proposal by the Board of Directors. Notably, the law stipulates that such substitution is restricted to once every two years from the date of the last substitution.
The Prime Minister and the ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this law, which is set to take effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
