Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has officially ratified and issued Law (17) of 2025, marking the Kingdom of Bahrain's accession to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969. This significant step follows the endorsement by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the accession to the Vienna Convention was originally signed in Vienna on May 23, 1969. However, Bahrain has included a reservation, specifying that the Kingdom shall not be bound by the provisions outlined in Article (66) of the Convention.
The Prime Minister and relevant ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this newly ratified law, which will be enforced starting the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
