Manama: Under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the Hijri New Year 1448 AH, the Royal Court will begin distributing the annual disbursement through the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates to charitable societies and Maatams (community centres), as is customary at the beginning of each Hijri year.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this annual tradition is aimed at supporting community initiatives and fostering the spirit of giving and solidarity during the Hijri New Year. The endowments will be responsible for ensuring that the funds reach the intended recipients, which include various charitable societies and community centres known as Maatams.
The initiative underscores the ongoing commitment of the monarchy to promote social welfare and community support. The distribution is anticipated to provide a significant boost to the activities and services offered by these organizations, allowing them to better serve their communities.
