Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today concentrated on recent significant events, with a key focus on the ratification of Law (41) of 2025 by HM King, following its approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. This law, known as the Press and Digital Media Law, is acknowledged as an important milestone in the country’s legislative framework modernization.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King received the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, further strengthening bilateral relations. The Information Minister expressed gratitude towards HM King for ratifying the Press and Digital Media Law, which is seen as a significant advancement in enhancing rights and public freedoms within Bahrain.
Additionally, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister engaged in multiple diplomatic meetings, including discussions with the Chairman Emeritus of the Young Presidents’ Organization and ambassadors from the United Kingdom and Thailand. These meetings underscore Bahrain’s commitment to fostering international relations and strategic partnerships.
In sports, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad attended the weightlifting and jiu-jitsu events at the Asian Youth Games, showcasing support for regional athletic development. On the cultural front, the Information Minister participated in the Bahraini Cultural Night at Heritage Village, highlighting Bahrain’s rich cultural heritage.
In terms of defence and cooperation, the Defence Affairs Minister chaired the 30th Meeting of the Joint Military Committee, aimed at strengthening defence ties. Meanwhile, the Municipalities Minister inaugurated two new public parks in Sitra Housing City, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance community infrastructure.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the significant role of the new Press and Digital Media Law in advancing public freedoms, while the Social Development Minister took part in a GCC workshop focused on updating the ethical charter for social workers.
Finally, the Shura Council Chairman extended congratulations to the BJA Chairman on the law’s ratification, and the Shura Council was recognized for its achievements at the 13th GCC Government HR Summit 2025. The Council of Representatives also commended royal directives concerning housing and employment, affirming their alignment with national development goals.
