Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today highlighted several significant local events that transpired over the past 24 hours. These events primarily revolved around the diplomatic activities of His Majesty the King and the issuance of new governmental decrees.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa extended congratulations to the President of Georgia and engaged in discussions regarding bilateral relations with the President of Russia. In addition, His Majesty exchanged Eid greetings with the Sultan of Oman and received a written message from the Grand Imam of Al Azhar. Furthering diplomatic ties, the King also had a telephone conversation with the Amir of Kuwait and received numerous cables from Bahraini families, affirming loyalty and support.
In a move to address legislative matters, His Majesty issued Decrees 31 and 32 of 2026, alongside Orders 18 and 19 of 2026. Meanwhile, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated the President of Georgia and chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting. He also met with the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister also received the Co-Founder of Furlan Marri.
Further developments in the country include HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad appointing a new board for the Bahrain Esports Federation and issuing Edict 6 of 2026 to appoint the Board of Directors for the Nasser Golf Academy. Additionally, the Interior Minister received a written message from the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister.
