Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (27) of 2025, which amends certain provisions of Law (9) of 2016 concerning Specifications and Measures. This development follows the approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly issued edict mandates several amendments to the existing law. These include updates to definitions, procedures for issuing and approving national standards and technical regulations, as well as the formation and operation of the National Committee for Standardisation and Metrology. Additionally, the law outlines penalties for the unauthorized use or sale of official specifications, aligning with enhanced regulatory practices.
The Prime Minister and the ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this law. The law will come into effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
