Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (16) of 2025, which formalizes the agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the States of Guernsey. This agreement focuses on the elimination of double taxation related to income taxes and aims to prevent tax evasion and avoidance. It received approval from both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was initially signed in Manama on September 29, 2024. The ratification signifies a commitment to fostering economic cooperation and ensuring tax efficiency between Bahrain and Guernsey.
The law mandates that the Prime Minister and the relevant ministers are responsible for implementing its provisions. The new law will be enacted and take effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
