Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (20) of 2025, which introduces amendments to Law (18) of 2017 concerning alternative sanctions and measures. This follows the approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the amendments expand the scope of alternative sanctions by incorporating new types of penalties and implementation procedures. Additionally, the amendments reassign key responsibilities for the oversight and enforcement of these sanctions.
The Prime Minister and ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this law within their respective capacities. The law will come into effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
