Muscat: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in the Sultanate of Oman today on a state visit, following an invitation from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman. The visit underscores the longstanding ties between the two nations and aims to foster further cooperation on strategic initiatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit will include talks between His Majesty King Hamad and His Majesty Sultan Haitham, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing strategic cooperation across various sectors, and addressing current regional and international issues.
Upon his arrival at the Royal Private Airport, His Majesty King Hamad was warmly welcomed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham and other dignitaries. The King expressed his pleasure at the visit, acknowledging the historical and enduring bonds that have united Bahrain and Oman over the years.
His Majesty King Hamad highlighted the significant progress in bilateral cooperation across multiple fields and acknowledged the efforts of both countries to elevate these relations to new levels. The King commended the Sultanate of Oman for its comprehensive progress and development, noting the achievements under Sultan Haitham's leadership.
The arrival was marked by a welcoming gesture from the Royal Air Force of Oman, with military jets escorting the Royal aircraft into Omani airspace. Senior officials, ministers, ambassadors, and honour delegation members were present at the airport to greet the King.
The ceremonial welcome continued as the two leaders proceeded to the ceremonial hall, passing between guards of honour. Following a cordial exchange, His Majesty King Hamad and His Majesty Sultan Haitham's motorcade headed to Al Alam Palace, where official and public reception ceremonies were held.
As the motorcade traversed Muscat, it was accompanied by royal camel and horse guards, with military music enhancing the atmosphere. At Al Alam Palace, a reception featured traditional music, folklore art, and performances of "Al Ayyala" art, welcoming the King.
In the inner courtyard of Al Alam Palace, the Royal Band played the Bahraini national anthem, followed by a 21-gun salute. Both leaders stood on the dais for the ceremonial welcome, after which His Majesty King Hamad greeted senior Omani officials.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham also welcomed the Bahraini delegation accompanying the King, wishing them a pleasant stay. The honorary delegation was led by Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
The official Bahraini delegation comprises notable figures, including His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and various ministers and advisors, reflecting the importance of the visit.
Earlier today, HM King Hamad departed Bahrain for the Sultanate of Oman on this significant state visit, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing collaboration between the two nations.
