Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree-Law (43) of 2026, amending certain provisions of Decree-Law (19) of 1976 concerning Orders, based on a proposal by the Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Decree-Law provides for the establishment of the Order of Isa Al Kabeer as the highest-ranking order, outlining three classes: the Excellent Class (Collar), First Class, and Second Class. This prestigious order, conferred by Royal Order, may be awarded to a select group, including monarchs, heads of state and their deputies, crown princes, heads of government, senior members of the Royal Family, senior Bahraini and foreign military and security officers, those who served during the era of the late Shaikh Isa the Great, their descendants, and other individuals chosen by His Majesty the King.
The Decree-Law also specifies that orders and their warrants will remain with recipients as keepsakes. They may only be worn by heirs under conditions specified by decree. The Prime Minister and the Ministers are tasked with implementing the provisions of this Decree-Law, which will take effect on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
