HM King Congratulates Shaikha Hessa on Historic Space Committee Role

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa on her appointment as the Second Vice-Chair of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) during its 68th session in Austria, marking her as the first Arab Muslim woman to hold this position.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King highlighted that this achievement reflects the competence and expertise of Bahraini women in assuming international roles. The appointment of Shaikha Hessa is seen as a significant milestone for the Kingdom of Bahrain's efforts and accomplishments in the field of space, underscoring international recognition of the role of Arab women in decision-making within global technological arenas.

His Majesty expressed pride in the achievements of Bahraini women at the national level, acknowledging their contributions to development, decision-making, and political participation. He noted their attainment of high positions in both regional and international forums, further emphasizing the importance of their role in various fields.
