Addressing the media, His Majesty emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a trust borne by all its citizens.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty underscored the importance of national unity, especially when facing significant challenges. He pointed out that recent events exposed hidden loyalties as Bahrain endured Iranian aggression. His Majesty condemned a small group of individuals who collaborated with the enemy, labeling their actions as treasonous and unforgivable.
HM King Hamad urged Iran to cease its interference in Bahrain and Gulf Cooperation Council affairs, expressing deep anger over recent developments. He questioned the integrity of those who betrayed national trust and stood with traitors, highlighting the unity of public opinion against such actions. His Majesty called for the expulsion of individuals who cooperated with aggression, affirming that citizenship is a binding covenant not to be taken lightly.
His Majesty criticized certain members of the legislative authority who sided with traitors, emphasizing the need for unity and integrity within the Council of Representatives. He asserted that those aligning with enemies should leave, as there is no place for them among the people. His Majesty expressed support for the rulings against those guilty of betrayal, including imprisonment and revocation of nationality, and called for further measures to protect loyal citizens.
The King addressed lawmakers, giving them the choice to apologize to the Bahraini people or align with those expelled for betrayal. His Majesty reiterated that parliamentary membership is a trust and that those tainted by betrayal do not deserve to represent the people.
