HM King Attends Ministry of Education Event on National Action Charter Anniversary

Al sakhir: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the Ministry of Education's 2026 National Action Charter anniversary event at the National Charter Monument in Al Sakhir, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, upon arrival, His Majesty the King was welcomed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, ministry officials, and students from government and private schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event began with the national anthem and a Quran recitation, followed by four artistic and musical performances by students from Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Secondary School for Boys.

His Majesty extended greetings to the people of Bahrain on this national occasion, noting the students' demonstration of patriotic values, which reflect the principles embedded in the school curricula and educational activities. His Majesty also expressed appreciation for all individuals who have contributed to the advancement of education in the Kingdom, highlighting the enduring impact of educators across generations on the nation's achievements.

On his part, Dr. Juma extended congratulations to His Majesty and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter, thanking His Majesty for the annual support of this national educational celebration. He noted that the Ministry ensures the values of the Charter are integrated into the curriculum and educational programmes, shaping students' understanding of Bahrain's history and national identity.

The Education Minister further noted that, following the guidance of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to put into immediate effect His Majesty's directive declaring "Year of Isa Al Kabeer", the ministry has commenced updating and expanding the curricula to cover the life and achievements of His Highness Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ruler of Bahrain and its dependencies. This includes broadening lessons and materials that document Bahrain's history since the founding of the modern state in 1783 by Shaikh Ahmed Al Fateh, thereby strengthening national identity and instilling knowledge of the Kingdom's history in students.

He highlighted that this year's National Action Charter celebrations are themed "Isa Al-Kabeer," forming a central element of the programme. The event involved over 3000 students from schools across Bahrain and was followed by tens of thousands of students and their parents. He added that His Majesty's presence and his interaction with the students serve as a significant recognition and an encouragement for them to continue their efforts and dedication.
