HM King Appoints Board of Trustees for Abdullah bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (49) of 2025, appointing members to the Board of Trustees for the Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa College of Islamic Studies. The decree was proposed by the Minister of Education and received approval from the Cabinet.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the decree stipulates that the Board of Trustees will be chaired by the Minister of Education. The board will consist of several key figures, including Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif Mahmood Al Mahmood and Shaikh Dr. Sulaiman bin Shaikh Mansour Al Sitri, both representing the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. Other members include the President of the University of Bahrain, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, and the Chairmen of both the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Councils.

Additional members comprise the Assistant Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, Shaikh Dr. Farid Yaqoub Yousif Al Miftah from the Supreme Judicial Council, and Salah Yousif Al Jowder from the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance. The board also includes Mahmood Nasser Majid Al Tublani, a member of the Jaafari Endowments Council, as well as the Directors of the Religious Institute and the Jaafari Religious Institute, and the Dean of the Abdullah bin Khalid College for Islamic Studies.

The decree specifies that the term of membership for the board will be four years, with the possibility of renewal. The Minister of Education is tasked with implementing this decree, which will become effective the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
