By 2000, Kuwait's Ministry of Information celebrated the achievements of historian Saif Al-Shamlan, poet Ahmad Al-Saqqaf, and Khaled Al-Zaid with State Awards, honoring their contributions to the cultural movement within the nation. In the realm of sustainable development, the Ministry of Public Works was awarded the 2016 sustainable award at the Climate Change and Sustainable Environment Conference. This acknowledgment was for their innovative design of sustainable buildings, reflecting Kuwait's dedication to environmental responsibility. Motorsport also saw a Kuwaiti triumph in 2016, with Barrak Al-Jasmi winning the world's Motocross championship in California, USA, putting Kuwait on the global map in the field of sports. Highlighting its ongoing economic progress, in 2018, Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah attended a ceremony in Ahmadi Area, marking the export of Kuwait's first light crude shipment, a significant advancement in the nation's oil industry.
