Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council (HEC) Board of Trustees, has approved a decision granting five-year academic programme accreditation to 94 programmes across nine public and private higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This accreditation follows the programmes' fulfillment of the standards set by the HEC.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma emphasized that the accreditation reflects the collaborative efforts between the HEC's General Secretariat, the Education and Training Quality Authority, and the HEC's Academic Accreditation Committee. He underscored the Council's commitment to ensuring that higher education institutions meet the accreditation standards for academic programmes, supporting their ongoing development and competitiveness.
The accredited programmes are distributed among several institutions. At the University of Bahrain, a wide range of Bachelor's and Master's degrees received accreditation, including programmes in sciences, engineering, business, law, nursing, and the arts.
Bahrain Polytechnic saw accreditation granted to its Bachelor's programmes in Business, International Logistics Management, Digital Media, and more, highlighting a commitment to diverse educational fields.
Ahlia University had multiple programmes accredited, including Bachelor's degrees in Banking and Finance, Management Information Systems, and Multimedia Systems, as well as several Master's degrees and a Ph.D. programme in collaboration with overseas universities.
Applied Science University received accreditation for programmes in Law, Human Resources Management, Political Science, and various others in business and design fields.
The Royal University for Women was accredited for programmes in Law, Business, and Design, emphasizing the institution's focus on empowering women through education.
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) achieved accreditation for multiple advanced degrees, including several MBA programmes in collaboration with international universities.
At Kingdom University, programmes in Business Administration, Law, and Financial Management were accredited, supporting the university's focus on business and legal education.
Gulf University's accredited programmes include Human Resources Management, Accounting, and Interior Design Engineering, reflecting its diverse educational offerings.
RCSI Bahrain was recognized for its Nursing programmes, underscoring its role in contributing to healthcare education in the region.
