Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Governor of the Southern Governorate and Chairman of the Security Committee, presided over the sixth meeting of the Security Committee for this year. The session focused on reinforcing security measures and fostering partnerships to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting included key figures such as Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor, and Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate. Several officers from various security departments within the Ministry of Interior were also present. His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali praised the continuous coordination with relevant departments, highlighting its crucial role in enhancing security, safety, and partnership, in accordance with the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior.
His Highness reiterated the Governorate's dedication to maintaining collaboration with the National Civil Emergency Management Committee. He acknowledged the committee's efforts in ensuring preparedness for shelter centres, enhancing rapid response capabilities, and increasing public awareness to protect the well-being of the community.
During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the security arrangements by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate for the forthcoming month of Muharram. He stressed the necessity of ongoing coordination and strategic planning with relevant security agencies and community centre leaders to guarantee a safe and well-organized observance.
Additionally, His Highness reviewed the summer initiatives executed by the Community Police Directorate in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defence. These initiatives aim to improve security and safety in public spaces while also boosting public awareness and safety education.
