Manama: Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, met with Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and the UK, focusing on defence and military cooperation. He engaged with Admiral Sir Radakin to discuss ways to enhance military relations, underscoring the significance of long-term defence partnerships in supporting regional security and stability.
The meeting addressed regional security challenges, including joint counterterrorism efforts and the strengthening of maritime security in the Gulf. Discussions also included fortifying defence capabilities, developing training programmes, conducting joint exercises, and aligning military forces in multinational operations.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and Admiral Sir Radakin evaluated maritime and air cooperation, assessing ongoing efforts to bolster Gulf security and exploring opportunities to expand aerial defence collaboration.
