HH Shaikh Nasser: Bahrain keen to involve youth in efforts to achieve SDGs

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the kingdom has provided optimal conditions for youth to showcase their capabilities, and instilled the values and principles of leadership and ambition among them, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, said.

In a statement marking the International Youth Day 2023, which is observed worldwide on August 12 under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the kingdom had devised a well-thought-out strategic plan to empower youth and provide them with all opportunities to be future leaders.

His Highness also highlighted the kingdom’s keenness to involve youth in its national initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), as they are the most capable of understanding the future.

“Youth have the necessary potential, and are the main engine for achieving sustainable development. We have great confidence in their ability to share their ideas and initiatives with their international counterparts on ways to achieve SDGS, and build a developed world based on a green economy to protect the universe from all aspects, including the environment,” His Highness said.

“We have been keen to secure a positive environment that supports Bahraini youth in all fields, improve programmes, initiatives and innovations related to capacity and skills development, support entrepreneurs and their projects based on the green foundations of the Bahraini economy, as well as enhance the role of youth because of their capabilities to find innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to advancing the green growth process to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development,” HH added.

HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his confidence in Bahraini youth’s ability to continue their patriotic efforts and come up with initiatives and ideas that would enable the kingdom to achieve SDGs.
