HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Participates in National Tree Week.

Manama: In support of the National Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and within the framework of National Tree Week launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa planted several trees in Al Mutalah. According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman affirmed the importance of National Tree Week in supporting the Kingdom's afforestation plan, encouraging environmentally friendly practices, and expanding green spaces. He noted that such initiatives are part of Bahrain's commitment to preserving environmental security and resource sustainability. His Highness emphasized Bahrain's dedication to combating climate change, highlighting the crucial role of afforestation in improving air quality and reversing environmental degradation. He also stressed the importance of community partnership in supporting national efforts to preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development for future generations. National Tree Week, which takes place annually on the third week of October, was launched to support the Kingdom's afforestation plan. This plan aims to double the number of trees to 3.6 million by 2035, aligning with Bahrain's commitments to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. A number of officials also participated in the event.
