Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), received members of the coordination committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games. The event will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22 to 31. The committee includes representatives from the Olympic Council of Asia and the organising committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad welcomed the members and commended their efforts to ensure the successful organisation of the games, which will be held in Bahrain for the first time. He emphasised that Bahrain's hosting of the games highlights its growing status in Asian sport and reflects the confidence of the continental sports community in the Kingdom's ability to host major events in line with international standards.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad underlined the importance of teamwork and ongoing coordination between all committees and stakeholders to ensure the preparation process is carried out professionally and comprehensively, with a focus on showcasing the cultural and modern image of Bahrain.
