Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, emphasized Bahrain's ongoing commitment to international initiatives that leverage sports as a means to promote peace and development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad credited this commitment to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the involvement of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad reiterated Bahrain's support for initiatives that highlight the role of sports in fostering peace and sustainable development. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad pointed out that the theme of "Social Inclusion" chosen for the 2025 International Day of Sport for Development and Peace underscores the capacity of sports to contribute to community development.
