Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the final of the second edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Football Cup for the 2025/2026 sports season, held under His Highness's patronage at Bahrain National Stadium. The final brought together Muharraq Club and Riffa Club and ended with Riffa winning 8-7 on penalties to claim the title.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated Riffa Club on winning the championship, commending the team's performance and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. His Highness also lauded the efforts of Muharraq Club, noting that the sporting spirit displayed in the final reflected the values of Bahraini sport.
His Highness stated that the final highlighted the continued development of Bahraini football and the promising talent it encompasses. He added that the Khalid bin Hamad Football Cup represents an important platform in supporting football and strengthening fair competition among clubs. This contributes to the development of the game and supports national teams with talented players capable of representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in regional and international competitions.
