Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, commended the royal order designating 2026 as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" in honour of Bahrain's founder of the modern state and key figure in its institutional development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad stated that the initiative reflects His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's dedication to preserving the national memory and promoting loyalty and appreciation for Bahrain's distinguished figures who have contributed to its progress. He emphasized that the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" highlights the lasting legacy of this national figure while instilling values of dedication, national pride, and commitment to development in future generations.
