Manama: The Bahraini-Egyptian Basketball Super Cup has concluded. The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of BOC. According to Bahrain News Agency, the tournament began with Al Ahly (Egypt) facing Al Ittihad Alexandria, where Al Ittihad secured victory to claim the Egyptian Super Cup. The following day, Bahrain's Al Ahly competed against Al Manama, with Al Manama emerging victorious to win the Bahrain Super Cup. In the final match, Al Ittihad defeated Al Manama 77-63, earning the Bahrain-Egypt Basketball Super Cup title. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali awarded gold medals to Al Ittihad players, silver medals to Al Manama players, and bronze medals to Egypt's Al Ahly players, who secured third place after defeating B ahrain's Al Ahly in the playoff for third and fourth positions. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali commended the support and patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, highlighting his key role in promoting youth and sports initiatives in line with the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Isa congratulated Al Ittihad on their victory in this inaugural event, commending the players' performances, which reflected the high level of basketball development in both countries. He emphasised that Bahrain's hosting of the Egyptian Super Cup and the Bahraini-Egyptian Basketball Super Cup underscores the strong Bahraini-Egyptian ties across all domains, including sports.
