Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Organising Committee of the 3rd Asian Youth Games. The event is set to take place from October 22-31 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the efforts of the Supreme Organising Committee and the Executive Committee. He highlighted Bahrain's readiness to host the event and acknowledged the cooperation between government ministries, agencies, and private-sector institutions. The role of the Executive Committee and its recognition by the Olympic Council of Asia were also noted during the meeting.
The meeting included a presentation by the Ministry of Works on organisational support and facilities for the Games. Reports from the Supreme Committee on preparations, the final sports programme, and the schedule outlined by the Executive Committee were reviewed.
The Executive Committee, chaired by Yousef Duaij, presented a detailed report that provided statistics and information on various aspects such as the number of participants, venues for competitions and training, workforce, meetings, hotels, agreements, technical staff, transport fleet, and progress in committee tasks.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasised the importance of continued efforts to meet all requirements for the success of the Games. His Highness expressed satisfaction with the progress made, noting that it showcases the efficiency and commitment of Bahrain's youth in addressing challenges and representing the Kingdom. He extended best wishes to all committees involved.
